Social media marketing started out with sites such as Myspace and grew from there.  It's amazing how widespread was the desire to have your own piece of Internet real estate.  Just to talk about yourself.  Your interests, how you were feeling, your loved ones, and pictures.  Then came all the opportunities to make money online.  It was pretty easy in the beginning and the possibilities were endless, because there were so many untapped markets, online.  But NOW, you almost feel like you don't have a choice, but to have some type of internet based hustle along with everything else you're doing.  You don't only have to have an internet based hustle, but you have to market it too!!!

One of the things I am learning about doing business in this economy, is that you have to apply some farming techniques.  In all the books and articles, that I've read about farming, I've learned that you have to diversify.  If you plant the same crops all the time, they start to deplete the soil.  You have to rotate the crops that you plant.  As is with this economy. You have to diversify your income streams.  You can't just have a job, you have to have something on the side too!  As a business owner, you have to diversify your services and products.  Or maybe run multiple businesses.  As a freelancer, provide a wide range of services.

Don't fight the current.  Pay attention to what others are paying attention to, in you.  Pay attention to the products and services that are selling.  Capitalize on what's moving others in your direction.  Remember, it takes faith, hard work, and perserverance. Don't let anyone convince you that it's an easy road.
